Julie Winkler is a local Oklahoma City harpist. At an early age, 9 to be exact, Julie began studying the harp and taking lessons at the University of Oklahoma Cattlet Music Center. For 10 years, she was classically trained in both harp and piano. She was the principal harpist for Oklahoma Youth Orchestra and was featured in the side by side concert with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra. Julie has competed in many harp competitions, and at 16 years old, she won the Carver Harp Music Olympics.
Now, with almost 2 decades of experience, she performs all over the state for churches, weddings, country clubs, parties, restaurants, and other special events. While Julie enjoys going back to her roots and playing classical pieces, she is continually pushing outside of her comfort zone to find new and edgy music to add to her repertoire. She loves playing familiar pieces to keep her audience engaged, as she believes everyone is inspired by music. As a professional, Julie is unmatched and will add a memorable touch to any event.
